Our Client, within the Industrial Engineering Industry, based in Richards Bay is seeking a Financial Controller who will report to the MD.

The Financial Controller will be responsible for the financial management of the company from a strategic point of view to ensure that the business is maximising its profit and achieving the targets towards the Group and shareholders. The Financial Controller will guide the CEO in his decisions.

Financial Controls  Taking responsibility for ensuring the accuracy of the accounting and control information held in and reported from the organisation’s accounting systems.  Supporting the Managing Director in developing and delivering the organisation’s financial and business strategy.  BEE transformation: responsible for the BEE (main contact of PWC for the transformation and then follow up/ management of the NewCo on a financial and administrative perspective).  Continuous review of financial, control and management information systems and procedures, implementing improvements across the organisation in consultation with the Financial Manager.  Following up on all orders (Sales Price and Gross Margin) from their booking to their completion: ensuring the Gross Margin at booking is correctly calculated and following up on it until the 100 % completion of the project.  Follow up on the inventories of the warehouse and ensuring the correctness of stock and reconciliation of thereof.  Manage the systems surrounding all aspects of the organisation’s budgets, forecasts and business planning.  Follow up on all Productive hours allocated to projects.  Preparing and analysing cash flow statements, income and expenditure accounts and balance sheet accounts.Ensuring the correct revenue is recognised and that the correct costs are classified and followed up on (include accruals balance %).  Assisting in the production of the draft year end accounts, supporting schedules and liaison with the auditors. Advice and Support to Delivery teams:  Developing and maintaining programme and project reporting and management systems as required.  Providing financial management support for the organisation’s various activities.  Supporting the Financial Manager in the development of the organisational and project budgets. Ensuring projects perform against budget by providing financial and monitoring reports, analysing variances and addressing potential problems with budget holders and managers. Management Responsibilities:  Providing advice, support and training on financial issues to the organisation staff directly, or to members through the organisation programmes on a consultancy basis. General Staff Responsibilities  To work in harmony with the organisations vision and values.  To promote and ensure compliance with the organisation’s policies, including Health & Safety, Environmental and Diversity Policies.  To work in a collaborative and entrepreneurial manner to support and drive Income generation.  To manage and undertake training / professional development as necessary.  To promote the use of technology and be self-servicing.  To work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and communicating effectively with all.  To encourage and support innovation throughout the organisation.  To work in the most resource efficient and effective manner.  To act as an ambassador for the organisation.  Any other duties as may be required by the Managing Director. Administration  Corporate Law matters: status, deregistration  Administrative agreements: management fees, rentals etc. Problem Solving

 To build and maintain a good relationships with the other departments of the company which will be keys to the success of the job

Internal / External Impacts
 Knowledge of the Process is required to operate, monitor and maintain direct area of accountability and complete necessary work as per the accountabilities mentioned above.
 Understand how changes to process conditions affect the area process outputs and how this impacts on other areas of the site from a compliance perspective.
 Liaise with external auditors on completion of yea rend audit
 Provide financial support to the project teams, finance teams and business development teams, acting as the central point between the Finance function and other departments
Education & Qualifications
 Financial Accounting Degree
Relevant Experience
 Auditing background preferred
 Proven working experience as a financial controller
 2 + years cost analysis / variance reporting experience
 Experience with management of projects/manufacturing costs
 Involvement in overall business strategy
 Knowledge of SAP B1
 Good written and verbal communication skills
 Good planning & organisational skills
