A leading specialist risk financier for small and medium enterprises, is offering an exciting career opportunity for an IT Applications Administrator at its IT department in Houghton Estate.
 
We are passionate about funding, supporting and mentoring entrepreneurs, or as we like to call them, the square pegs in a sea of round holes.
 
  • Assist the Helpdesk Manager to provide a stable and secure environment for the company e-mail, systems and applications
  • Administer servers at various locations within business centres, including
    • Backups and monitoring of server performance and resources.
    • Control access and privileges to data and applications based on IT policies
    • Monitoring and reporting on user utilization of shared resources.
  • Provide helpdesk and desktop support, including software and hardware support.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot network operations which include support and maintenance of all VPN, Internet, ADSL and other connections.
  • Administration of the anti-virus solutions on the server and desktop environments. Ensure security systems (firewall, anti-spam, anti-virus, back-up) are up to date and fully operational nationally.
  • Maintaining Microsoft Active Directory in-line with company policies.
  • Maintaining Microsoft Exchange 2013 and SQL Server in-line with internally defined policies and procedures.
The successful candidate should:

Preferably have a BCom / BSc / BTech undergraduate degree.
  • Must have A+, N+, MTA IT Infrastructure, MCSA, MSCE or similar Certification.
  • Possess between 2-3 years’ relevant professional financial work experience.
  • Working knowledge on Microsoft Exchange, SQL, Server and Office products.
  • Keen interest in Information Technology systems and applications.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Excellent business communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent customer service skills and must be customer focused.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work well under pressure.
 
The successful candidate needs to have high levels of attention to detail and be results focused. Other competencies required for the role include the individual having a hands on approach with the ability to take initiative and problem- solve.
