Financial Accountant (Century City) 6 Months

Key Focus:
This role is mainly responsible for assisting the financial manager and producing accurate and timely information in order to ensure statutory reporting and tax compliance. The incumbent is individually accountable for achieving results through own efforts.
Duties and responsibilities will include the following:
Financial Reporting
  • Prepares inputs for financial reporting
  • Prepares interim reporting for bi-annual distribution announcement
  • Prepares AFS and integrated reporting
  • Prepares other statutory reporting (e.g. Stats SA submission, etc)
  • Compiles supporting documents and reports for financial manager
  • Prepares tax computation and tax submission
  • Monitors tax compliance
Financial accounting
  • Prepares journals and reconciliation (e.g. lease straightlining, disposals and acquisitions)

Competencies/Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
  • BCom Finance/Accounting
  • IFRS knowledge
  • 3 years experience
  • SAICA articles preferred
  • Experience in the property industry preferred
  • Strong financial expertise
  • Strong consolidation and business combination expertise
  • Strong Caseware expertise
  • Strong Management Information Systems usage skills including Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work as a team as well as independently
