Job Description
  • Manage the QC Department and its staff.
  • set up work instructions/ inspection parameters/ product data sheets/  - with the ability to manage, discipline and train staff, in order to achieve a zero defect target
  • Must be senior enough to liaise with customers on management and quality assurance level
  • Report to David Franck, for the purpose of Management Review Meetings. Basic aspects would be department staff, absenteeism, internal rejects by part and customer as a number of and percentage, customer complaints and rejects, number of NCA completed and the close off thereof, factory housekeeping and the auditing of the various departments within the factory. Engineering change request made during this period.
  • Management of the ISO9001:2008 system. This means that all aspects of this coverage must be continuously updated and complete at all times. We do not want to scramble around in preparation for an external audit. This applies to the electronic and hardcopy manuals. The electronic and hard copies of all ISO documentation.
  • Monitor, check and supervise your staff’s performances. This means that you are to monitor your staff responsibilities on a daily basis. You must re-check their inspections, measurements etc to make sure that we are delivering a product that is in accordance with its specification sheet set out by the company and or the customer.
  • Maintain the calibration of all equipment pertaining to the measurement of production, receiving and dispatch.
  •  Liaise with our customers QC staff regarding procedures, manufacture, calibration, and measurement. 
  • Maintain and update all records within the QC department, this might extend into tooling and production, but will be discussed and agreed upon at the time.
  • You will be responsible for all NCA’s, CAR’s, ISIR’s and Engineering change requests, remedial actions etc pertaining to our manufacturing and ISO process, this means that a complete follow through is required i.e. findings and close-outs.
  • You will carry out internal audit findings and observations on all internal departments on a 2 monthly basis, and perform close-outs once all is adhered to. This period can increase once we are satisfied with everyone ’s performance.
  • You will carry out external audits on all our supplier s if possible on a regular basis, again findings and close-outs.
  • You will in conjunction with David Franck respond to, monitor and close off all customer complaints.
  • You will be responsible for internal concessions.
  • You will monitor the general housekeeping and report to the managing members.
  • I would like you to divide your time between hands-on approach and a “number crunching” function. Statistics play an important part in continuous improvement. I refer to the like of OTD, PPM, scrap, customer satisfaction, reworks etc.
  • Final inspection will be your department’s responsibility.
  • Implementation of Preventative Actions as well as FMEA’s where required
  • All process flow charts, work instructions, product work instructions must be adequately set up and neatly displayed on the correct stands in the correct areas. All the required signage for a top class ISO company to be designed manufactured and displayed.
