            Perpose of job
The role of a New Business Representative is to generate new business opportunities for the company with individual or corporate clients that have a requirement for the companies service offerings, and are not currently a customer.
  1. All Sales Consultants nationally, and related sales personnel;
  2. All related policies, procedures and activities.
          Duties and Responsibilities
Regulatory and Statutory
  1. Identify and comply with any legal and regulatory requirements.
Policy and Procedure
  1. Proactively seek, target and secure new business opportunities in the market.
  2. Contact potential clients through “cold-calling” (physical door-to-door or telephone calls).
  3. Identify quality leads.
  4. Qualify leads from campaigns as sales opportunities.
  5. Schedule appointments with acquired leads.
  6. Follow through with appointment (“selling the company" as per Company Sales procedure).
  7. Identify client needs, and recommend appropriate solutions, by preparing and presenting business proposals.
  8. Ensure clients complete a credit application and provide all relevant supporting documents.
  9. Facilitate handover of credit application and supporting documents to office administration to get the account open.
  10. Once account is open, deliver welcome letter and starter pack to client, and schedule a date and time for Parcel Perfect online training.
  11. Ensure that the corresponding Business Development (BD) representative also attends the Parcel Perfect online training and is introduced to the client as the contact who will take over the operational aspects of the relationship.
  12. Ensure the client starts billing as soon as possible.
  13. Attain and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual new business sales targets.
  14. Negotiate client rate increases, during the year and generally for 1 March.
  15. Perform Opposition Intelligence research.
  16. Respond to, and follow up on sales enquiries, using appropriate methods.
  17. Check and ensure that rates in Parcel Perfect are correct and accurate when the account commences with the company and/or increases are given.
  18. Assess clients’ courier needs with every visit and ensure that the clients use the company holistically.
  19. Build lasting business relationships with clients.
  20. Build own base by prospecting, signing, maintaining and doing new business.
  21. Formulate solid sales strategy and build into sales campaigns.
  22. Keep updated continually on new services, products and pricing plans.
  1. Purchase and wear the company uniforms, paid for by you through Image Makers or Karma.
  2. Demonstrate a flexible attitude if requested to assist in other areas of business as and when required.
  3. Be expected to attend events and/or work outside or normal working hours where required.
  1. Be a Brand ambassador, and promote the company at all times.
  2. Exercise personal judgment and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles as part of daily activities.
  3. Represent the company at trade exhibitions and events.
  4. Build strong relationships with customers, and ensure Client and stakeholder satisfaction.
  1. Call and communicate with existing clients regularly to establish their satisfaction with our services.
  2. Communicate with, liaise and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business, and sustainable relationships.
  3. Provide expertise to colleagues, customers and other interested parties when required.
Reporting and Records
  1. Provide monthly client business reports (as requested), SLA’s to top clients and related reports
  2. Capture data of your activities daily into Saleboat, the nominated CRM system used exclusively by the company Sales staff.
  3. Follow up on all paperwork, credit applications, stationery, credit requests and client queries, etc.
  4. Analyse new client spend vs. the rates and credit limits requested.
  5. Review and monitor own sales performance, with the aim of meeting and exceeding targets.
  6. Supply future sales trends back to the company.
  7. Provide necessary data for sales reports when required.
  8. Prepare all relevant information for audits when required.
  9. Provide problem analysis, solutions and recommendations for process improvements.
Training and Awareness
  1. Provide induction training and awareness to new sales representatives.
  2. Attend sales and team meetings, and share best practice techniques with colleagues.
  1. Have sufficient authority to take action without delay where risks to customer relationships or the business is identified.
