Para- Planner
Para Planners are very similar to paralegals. They possess complementary technical or financial skills and can assist established
Financial Planners in tasks that include, but go beyond, administrative duties such as:


Responsibilities
• Attend client meetings with experienced qualified financial advisors.
• Prepare notes and attend to delegated action items within time frames agreed.
• Review client files and prepare quarterly or half annual written reviews to be sent electronically to clients.
• Execution of identified client relationship building campaigns (either once-off or ongoing)
• In-House Servicing.

Assist in implementation of cross-selling initiatives within the division

Job Overview
Work directly for the main Planner within a Team of Financial Planners
Taking full responsibility for all outstanding business and following up on a daily basis - Assessing which cases are taking a
longer than accounted for period to acceptance & the reason for delays. Liaise with clients where requirements are delaying
the acceptance process. Feedback must be prepared and ready on a daily basis and given to the Broker/s when requested.
Escalate any problem cases to Management. Check that commissions are paid and commission stats up to date
Check all Brokers diaries are up to date and sufficient traveling time has been allocated. Ensure portfolio is then prepared and
100% correct, use the Astute download, this should be completed one week in advance of the appointment so that sufficient
time is given to the Broker for any further preparation & advance analysis. Make notes of any of your own
suggestions/shortfalls or any other relevant information which needs to be discussed with the Broker. Randomly check at least
5 clients portfolio's per day to check for possible shortfalls
Check the spread of activates between each Team member so that each has the correct allocation percentage &, keep the
stats up to date on a weekly basis
Client Files - Ensure that loading of new Files and applications are correct and that files are updated correctly on review and
review calls. Does client have nickname? Income Loaded, Addresses x 3, Profession & Occupation, Children moved to
Orphan base, inactive spouses to Orphan base
Ensure that the Team are calling for reviews timeously I.e. within a minimum 12 month cycle and dependant on the client
segmentation group that this is reflected on the client file under last and next contact dates. Allocate any arrear review calls to
Team Members.
Preparation of Buy & Sell quotations, documentation and assistance with the Presentation
Buy & Sells (Ensure that an activity is created for every company and related client - Ensure that the Broker reviews the Buy &
Sell at least once per annum
